CO detectors save lives

Carbon monoxide, or CO, is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas. It's a byproduct of the combustion process and occurs during the operation of our furnaces - and it's deadly. Carbon monoxide is not something to take lightly - it is deadly at high levels.
Regular maintenance ensures that our ventilation system channels carbon monoxide outside.
Because CO is undetectable without monitors, it can build up. If residents start experiencing frequent headaches and fatigue that lessen when at work or otherwise outside the home, leave the building, and call a professional immediately.
A carbon monoxide detector will alarm when unsafe levels of carbon monoxide are present. CO is heavier than air and will fill a room/house from the bottom up, so detectors should be placed near or on the floor. Change the batteries when changing smoke alarm batteries - and there are units that incorporate both detectors.
